2012 has been great so far. We’re still working on the new record by Chris Bathgate (whom Paste Magazine recently named one of their 10 “Best Of What’s Next” artists for 2012). I’m not at liberty to post mixes off that yet, but I can promise it’s going to be superlatively great.

I recently mixed the latest Jens Lekman record! Pitchfork gave it a 7.9 and called it “a compact gem.” Awesome. Here’s the single off the record, which debuted in the indie Top 10:

I just finished the mixes for a record by a new artist from Ann Arbor named Hana Malhas. Lovely girl, lovely voice, fantastic songwriting. It’s like folk-pop, but with avant-garde production touches courtesy of my new friend Michelle Chamuel, aka The Reverb Junkie. I’m in love with this record. Here are a couple songs off that:

I just mixed a few key songs off of, and mastered all of, the debut LP by a post-rock band from upstate New York called LOFTS. This record is absolutely fantastic. I’m so excited about it; it’s thrilling when I get to work on something I love this much. Here’s the first single:

I had a record come out this winter that I produced for a post-punk/goth band from San Francisco called Tremor Low. The single “Peter Murphy’s Dead” got some alternative/tastemaker radio play in a bunch of markets nationwide, and “Wolfsuit” was just recently featured on the NPR show Marketplace (heaven for a nerd like me).
